BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) Program

The BDS is India's sole dental surgery educational and professional program. It is the students' second choice following the MBBS course in the medical educational area. Students will learn about dentures, dental issues, and surgery in this course.

It is a five-year undergraduate curriculum and India's sole professional dentistry school. Students who want to work as dentists in government or private hospitals must take this course. After MBBS, BDS is one of the most popular medical courses in India.

In India, students must pass the 10+2 exam or have an equivalent degree from a recognized institute to be admitted to BDS programs.

In most cases, only one admission exam is held across India. The Nationwide Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a national-level exam that takes place once a year.

According to current data, India has over 300 dental colleges, with over 27,000 places in both government and private institutions. The typical course fee in India is between INR 1 and 8 lacs.

Who is Eligible For BDS in India

In India, the National Medical Commission (NMC) establishes the requirements for BDS admission. For BDS admission, only candidates who meet the qualifying standards are considered. ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY

1. Question : Academic Qualifications 

Answer : To secure BDS admission in India, candidates must have passed class 12 from a recognised board.

Answer : To pursue an BDS course, students should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in classes 11 and 12.
